Artist Yael Davids produces predominantly performance-based work, sometimes involving herself as performer and at other times working with groups. Her oeuvre considers the intersection of personal and political narratives, the collection, and collective heritage, and examines the body as a site of convergences and conflicts. Along with several other recent works and performances in Paris, Basel, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, and Rio de Janeiro, this publication presents her assemblage for documenta 14, a new sculptural work comprising armoured glass made by a factory in Kibbutz Tzuba, where she grew up. Born in Israel, Davids currently lives and works in Amsterdam. Thanks to Roma Publications (Amsterdam).
