Japanese photographer Daisuke Yokota is known for pushing the developing process and the potential of analogue image-making to the extreme, thereby introducing imperfections and visual noise in the striking images he creates. He often re-photographs prints up to 10 times, injecting layer upon layer of distortion and, in the process, emphasising the medium’s inability to represent past events accurately or truthfully. This series of haunting, distorted and otherworldly images epitomises his distinctive approach. The stunning Site/cloud arrives courtesy of G/P Gallery (Tokyo).
