A collection of works by Japanese photographer Isamu Arimura. Published by SALT AND PEPPER to coincide with Arimura's participation in LAABF 2025.
Familiar landscapes emerge as abstract images, imbued with a tangible materiality.
Though colours fade within the grain, distorted and blurred, the images I saw persist.
Within light where even time seems indistinguishable, landscapes quietly transform, drifting between memory and sensation.
This series began with photographs taken on colour negative film and scanned at a photo lab. The white balance settings during scanning and underexposure disrupted the colour balance, revealing distinct textures and tones.
Limited edition of 100 copies.
