Photographies du soir presents a series of photographs by French artist Julien Carrey taken between 2014 and 2017. This body of work – his first colour photographic works – is inspired by a wide range of artists throughout art history, from painters Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, and David Salle, to filmmakers Jean Rollin and Claude Chabrol, and artist's interiors. Carreyn once worked as a former art director, and it shows in his imagery and editorial practice. Texts by art critic Claire Moulène and Scottish artist Mick Peter follow the series of 41 images.
