Perimeter x Photobook/NZ 2020
Perimeter is excited to be taking part in the biennial Photobook/NZ Festival in Wellington next week. Celebrating small press photobooks and aiming to connect photographers, publishers and book-lovers, Photobook/NZ offers an extensive programme including lectures and discussions, an exhibition and a one-day book fair. If you're in Wellington, come say hi!
As part of the festival Perimeter will be teaching a two-day international masterclass alongside Cristina de Middel (Spain), Matthew Casteel (US), Daniel Boetker-Smith (AU), Jono Rotman (US), David Cook (NZ), and Anna Brown (NZ). Targeted for artists and photographers who have a photo-based project in development, the workshops offer opportunities for each participant to work through the process of how to turn their own body of work into a completed photobook. All places have now been filled.
At the book fair (Saturday March 7, 10 am - 3 pm), Perimeter will be showing a range of new titles from Perimeter Editions (Melbourne), MACK (London), Kodoji Press (Baden), Loose Joints (London), Libraryman (Antwerp/Stockholm), Art Paper Editions (Ghent), and more. Perimeter's co-directors Justine Ellis and Dan Rule will be delivering a free lecture (4 pm - 6 pm) after the fair, discussing their photobook publishing output and philosophy, the culture and market for photobooks, and the wider Perimeter operation. While this is a free event, registration is required.
