Perimeter x PHOTO 2022 Photobook Weekend

Join Perimeter at the PHOTO 2022 Photobook Weekend (May 21-22, 2022), where we'll be taking part in talks, showing at the Photobook Market, and launching our latest Perimeter Editions title (co-published with Photo Australia), Atong Atem – Surat. Taking place at the Photography Studies College (PSC), the Photobook Weekend will be an opportunity to explore new photobooks, engage with makers and celebrate the photobook as a form.

PHOTOBOOK MARKET
Perimeter is excited to be exhibiting at the Photobook Market, where attendees can browse and purchase books by local and international photographers, publishers and bookstores. Hosted by PHOTO 2022 at PSC, Perimeter will be curating a selection of titles from its represented publishers, including MACK (London), Spector Books (Leipzig), Loose Joints (London / Marseille), Roma Publications (Amsterdam) and others.

TALK: PUBLISHING AND DISTRIBUTION
In this three-part series experts will discuss the process of making photobooks in depth. From conceiving and shooting the project, design and creating the book as object, through to publishing, distribution and critique.

Part Three: Publishing and Distribution

The final panel conversation will discuss publishing, distribution and what makes a Photobook great. Makers, including Perimeter co-director Dan Rule, will share their experiences of what they achieved by bringing their Photobook to life.

TALK: MEET THE MAKER
Meet the Maker is a series of casual conversations taking place throughout the Photobook Weekend, giving audiences an opportunity to meet and network with artists and publishers. Photobook creators will showcase their latest projects, sharing insight and answering audience questions.

Perimeter co-directors Dan Rule and Justine Ellis will be taking part in the Meet the Maker series, so stop by the Perimeter stall at the Photobook Market at 1.30pm, Saturday May 21 to hear them discuss their experiences with bookmaking.

BOOK LAUNCH: ATONG ATEM – SURAT (PERIMETER EDITIONS 077)
Come along to the much-anticipated launch of Surat, the debut photobook from the South Sudanese / Australian artist Atong Atem, and the second in the PHOTO Editions series. The launch will include celebratory drinks and a signing by the artist – we hope to see you there!
