Perimeter Talks | Jack Harries | Heavy

Perimeter is thrilled to continue its programming initiative Perimeter Talks in 2019. Taking place approximately once a month, the series features lectures, panel discussions and more casual in-conversations with publishers, artists, curators, designers, writers and editors. The talks explore and address various themes and issues relating to contemporary photographic, art and design publishing – helping demystify, challenge and offer insight into publishing as a medium and a practice.

Heavy III is the latest publication by Sydney-based The Heavy Collective, an online platform and in-print magazine dedicated to celebrating photographic practice and its relationship to the printed book. This in-store event will see Jack Harries, The Heavy Collective’s founder and editor-in-chief, discuss the relationship between photography and writing, the importance of the photographic book, and the more broader ideas circulating around the latest issue of the magazine.

Heavy III includes photographs by Gregory Halpern, Jo Ann Walters, Lindley Warren Mickunas, Matthew Genitempo, Nico Krebs, Rinko Kawauchi, Sam Contis, Taiyo Onorato and Zhang Kechun, as well as writing by Alana Celii, Dan Rule, Daniel Boetker-Smith, Echo Guo, Emma Phillips, Nich Hance McElroy, Nicholas Muellner and Sara Knelman. This Perimeter Talk will be followed by a book launch from 5pm. All welcome!
