Perimeter Editions x CCP | CCP.PE.Z005+6 Zine Launch

Perimeter Editions and the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) are delighted to share the latest releases from CCP.PE.ZINE, a new collaborative publishing initiative dedicated to providing a platform for emerging photographic artists to exhibit their work in an accessible zine format. Each zine in the series – launched periodically in pairs – focuses on a single body of work by artists selected by the CCP.
Following the first four zines that were released in 2025, we are excited to announce the launch of the first pair for 2026: Patricia Sofra – Subside, and Hussein Abdirahman Mohamud – Street. Join us on Saturday January 31 at Perimeter Books (734 High St, Thornbury) from 3pm, where we will be launching the two zines with a brief introduction by Perimeter and CCP, artist signings, and a casual celebration to follow. All are welcome – we look forward to seeing you!

ABOUT THE ZINES

CCP.PE.Z005 Patricia Sofra – Subside
I travelled to Silesia, one of Europe’s most polluted regions, to document Poland’s enduring reliance on coal and the impact it leaves on both people and place. Travelling through the small mining towns of Imielin and Bytom, Subside moves through these fractured landscapes, documenting sinking homes, abandoned façades, and the quiet persistence of those who stay. A polluted haze softens the outlines of buildings, while “Save Imielin” posters and school murals signal local resistance. Across these shifting and fractured environments, the work examines the tension between economic necessity and environmental damage, reflecting a dependency that binds communities to an unsustainable future. – Patricia Sofra
Patricia Sofra is a photographic artist based in Naarm, Australia. Her work explores ways in which history and memory influences the perception of our environment and how tradition is preserved and passing.

CCP.PE.Z006 Hussein Abdirahman Mohamud – Street
'Street’ is a collection of images made across Melbourne; portraits and candid photographs of the everyday, of people’s experience of daily life in a city that is going through visible changes. These images have been selected from thousands I have made over recent years, and they provide an imperfect snapshot of my fleeting encounters with people momentarily fixed into photographs. – Hussein Abdirahman Mohamud
Hussein Abdirahman Mohamud is a photographer, writer, and psychoanalyst in training based in Naarm / Melbourne, Australia.
