Perimeter Editions x CCP | CCP.PE.Z.007+8 Zine Launch
Perimeter Editions and the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) are delighted to share the latest releases from CCP.PE.ZINE, a new collaborative publishing initiative dedicated to providing a platform for emerging photographic artists to exhibit their work in an accessible zine format. Each zine in the series – launched periodically in pairs – focuses on a single body of work by artists selected by the CCP.
To launch the latest zines CCP.PE.Z.007 Sean Kweifio-Okai – ASORKPOR and CCP.PE.Z.008 Teva Cosic – Birdsong, join us at Perimeter Books from 6pm, Friday July 31. The launch will feature a brief introduction by Perimeter and CCP, artist signings, and a casual celebration to follow. We hope to see you there!

ABOUT THE ZINES
CCP.PE.Z.007 Sean Kweifio-Okai – ASORKPOR
‘ASORKPOR’ is a visual exploration of the musical vibration that shapes the streets of Jamestown, Accra. Through sequences of black-and-white street portraits, the project traces how this vibration is embodied through gesture and movement, shaping collective identity through shared musical experience. – Sean Kweifio-Okai
Sean Kweifio-Okai is a Ghanaian–Australian documentary photographer based between Accra and Naarm / Melbourne. His practice explores African diasporic and urban experiences through long-term photographic work with the people and subcultures that shape the city.
CCP.PE.Z.008 Teva Cosic – Birdsong
Birdsong’ is an ongoing body of work that draws on the complexities of what it means to belong. As a child who grew up in-between different cultures, the work recalls a longing to be rooted. This longing is echoed through the tenuous relationship created between an image and its maker and consequently, its maker to her audience. There is nothing revelatory about the work; it simply exists as the extension of a feeling that the image attempts to carry forward in its own feverish way. – Teva Cosic
Teva Cosic is an artist whose work explores ideas around memory, loss and place. Influenced by her cross-cultural (Swedish/Croatian) background, she is interested in how we create and sustain social, cultural and emotional connections through images and image making practices.
