Emi Ueoka – Intersections | Naarm / Melbourne Book Launch

Perimeter is excited to present the launch of Emi Ueoka – Intersections (Nieves), taking place at 3pm–5pm, Saturday March 28 at Perimeter HQ (734 High St, Thornbury). The launch – comprising a casual celebration and book signing – will coincide with an exhibition of pencil works by the artist, that will be available to purchase from Perimeter for a limited time.

ABOUT THE BOOK

‘I’m attracted to people waiting around, commuting, and hanging out because I like drawing understated poses and a certain atmosphere. In time this interest grew, ever so slightly, to include the surrounding traffic. Intersections is a collection of these drawings.’ – Emi Ueoka

Emi Ueoka is a Melbourne-based Japanese artist working primarily in pencil. She studied in the United Kingdom, exhibiting life drawings at the National Portrait Gallery as a high school student, and graduated in Graphic Design from Central Saint Martins, London. In 2011 she began her career as an illustrator with commissions including British VogueThe New York TimesShiseido and Herman Miller.
