An Archeology of Fear and Desire by photographer Frederic Brenner, maps the architectural spaces of Israel (and people that inhabit them) – be it an airport, the desert, parks, abandoned lots or residential scenes – which he investigates here via their own physical condition and subject to a subtle form of entropy. In order to narrow its reality and recontextualise Israel as place and metaphor for fear, longing, belonging, exclusion and of devouring myths which perpetuate a tyranny of roles, Brenner looks at the social and religious constructs which render us strangers to what is most intimate in ourselves. This poignant volume comes courtesy of the brilliant MACK (London).

72 pages, 29 cm x 27 cm, hardcover, MACK (London).
